Tell us what your business does?

We provide Irish language help for tolddlers and children through our website and talking teddybear

Where did the idea for your business come from?

We got the idea after getting fed up with the same Ameican English speaking toys for toddlers and children. Why couldn’t we have an Irish speaking teddy or toy?. So we got to work designing and inventing.

Have you always wanted to run your own business?

Yes, after many jobs in many different types of businesses. I only wanted to go into business with a sure thing and the time is right now, now that I am confident I have the hot toy for Christmas 2010.

What planning did you do before you started up?

I had a strategy and marketing plans. I knew where the product would sell. I researched how the products were made and just got on with it constantly getting feedback throughout the process and always questioning it myself.

Which entrepreneurs do you admire?

Pat McDonagh, Padraig O’Ceidigh, John Concannon, Caroline Casey, The Pratt family from Avoca Handweavers, Rachel Allen,Michael O Leary,Sarah Newman, Bill Cullen, Sean Gallagher,Feargal Quinn, Brody Sweeney,Pat Short, Walt Disney, Bill Gates, Oparah Winfrey, Donald Trump, Alan Sugar, Richard Branson, Denis O Brien, Louis Copeland, Jamie Oliver

What challenges have you faced how have you overcome them?

The challange I had was coming from a filmmaking background, how was I going to now imerse myself in the world of chidrens toys and education systems. I suppose I overcame it pretty quickly because I had to.

How have you promoted your business?

I set up a webpage and use twitter and facebook on it. I also set up a company account for both twitter and facebook. We have had lots of coverage in the press and radio since we went public with our company and its products.

What has your growth been like?

Interest has surged and the business will start once we get our first shipment of the World’s first Irish speaking teddies in September

What are your hopes for 2010?

To sell out all our first order of Irish speaking teddies by Dec 24th and start 2011 with fresh stock. And to hear that most toddlers and children have either heard of the Bábógbaby or have tried out the interactive section of the website to learn some cupla focail.

Thanks Adrian..we look forward to following your success…www.startups.ie
