I am wondering if anyone could help me as i couldn't find an answer anywhere....
I am full time employed person in one of Irish companies. But i would like to start a sole-trading at my spare time.
maybe there is anyone who is already operating as sole trader and is fully employed as well? so could provide a bit of advise? Is the Emplyee provided with that information? ( as i would like to keep it in prvite from employee)
Thank you for your advise in advance, and i would really appriciate if someone could provide any information.
regards
Arthur

Re: sole trader and employed at the same time
Hi Arthur,
Thanks for the post, there are plenty of people who are fully employed but also operate as a sole trader outside of work. For example a teacher might be employed full time by a school but may do grinds/ lessons privately etc. It is nothing to worry about and good for you for trying to get an additional opportunity going in your own time.
Some employment contracts have clauses stating that you cannot conduct other businesses while employed but this is not enforceable. If you are doing your job and your employer is happy with your work what you do in your spare time is your business.
There will be tax implications if you are earning extra money outside of work but that is between you and revenue (and again nothing to worry about!!)
Best of luck and let us know how you are getting on!
